We are incredibly grateful to Enbridge and its dedicated staff for their ongoing support of the children and youth of our community.  Enbridge’s values of Safety, Integrity and Respect continue to demonstrate to us at BGCBigs their employees live and work in the same community we do, and are committed to creating a meaningful, long-term and safe impact to the children and youth in our area.  We are proud to have Enbridge as a partner for on-site corporate mentoring and renovations of our Kinsmen Club.

Since 2011, 20+ kids from Montrose School have visited the Jasper Avenue offices of Enbridge to spend time with volunteer mentors.  These caring Enbridge staffers share their experiences, help with homework and reading, and play games with their mentees once a week throughout the school year.

Enbridge continues to work with us to think outside the box when it comes to assisting kids with developing confidence and self-esteem and ensuring they have a safe place to be.

We are thrilled to have Enbridge join the sponsorship group that is responsible for our annual Holiday Party and Awards Event, taking place on December 8th.  Nearly 2,000 kids, their families and the amazing volunteers who make our work possible, will join us for a traditional Christmas Dinner, games and activities, and gifts.  Outstanding volunteers and young people from the past year will be recognized in a brief awards ceremony.  Following the event, an update will be included here.

Thank you Enbridge.

UPDATE:  One of our operations staff took the time to share her experience with the Kinsmen renovation and Enbridge.  Kim Collister writes:

“The transformation of the Kinsmen Club over the spring and summer has been incredible thanks to Enbridge and the United Way.  Not only has the building seen great improvements including paint, new furniture, a new boot room, electrical, HVAC, etc., but the kids were able to participate in a “fun day” put on by Enbridge staff.  The kids experienced a giant obstacle “jumpy”, a barbecue with their families and special treats.  It was amazing to see the staff interact with the families, especially those that were newcomers and our staff who were able to speak their language.  It was a great day and experience for all.”
