The Provincial National Child Day Collaborative invites the community to get involved on National Child Day. For the first time this year, there are local and provincial efforts coordinated around National Child Day.
Click here for a letter of invitation to celebrate National Child Day which includes an overview of the significance of this day as well as some suggestions for how to be involved and find out more.
We would like to also invite you to participate in a poverty simulation event on National Child Day. We believe it is a powerful experience which may be of interest to those whose decisions influence the well being of children and families. We have room for 80 participants and hope for a broad representation of stakeholders. Find the invitation here.
The Edmonton National Child Day Committee is also hosting a proclamation event which will be held at the Stanley Milner Library in Edmonton. We are excited that the event will include the voices of children and youth as well as the launch of a video created by the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate related to the right to be heard.
Lastly, all Edmonton YMCA locations are hosting a free swim day on Sunday November 24th. Click here for details.
Please join us as we raise awareness of National Child Day as well as our own awareness of the challenges families face when living in poverty.
