All In For Youth Edmonton

_k7a0214Did you know that 1 in 5 Edmonton students don’t finish high school? Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters (BGCBigs)  is part of the new initiative led by United Way of the Alberta Capital Region called All in for Youth that’s working to change that.

All in for Youth brings together programs and services in a new way to help every child achieve their very best, by providing support to them and their families. By taking care of critical needs now, we stand a far better chance of helping them get through tough times, build skills and set children up for academic success.

All In is currently being piloted in five inner city schools where there is a high need for services:
• St. Alphonsus Elementary/Junior High
• John A McDougall Elementary
• Delton Elementary
• Spruce Avenue Junior High
• Eastglen High School

We need more volunteers to join us to work with kids in these schools! There are lots of opportunities. You could be an in school mentor in one of these schools, you could work with the kid at the local after school programs, or you could be a traditional Big Brother or Big Sister with kids from these schools.
