EvelineCharles has a long history of showing support for the kids in our community. For many years, girls in BGCBigs programs have been sponsored to attend Beauty Bootcamp, a weeklong day camp that focuses on building confidence while creating a healthy body and mind for girls aged 11 to 15 years.
When 12 year old Cindy went to Beauty Bootcamp, she felt differently at the end of the week. “I just felt like it was okay to be who I was and that it’s about feeling great not what other people think about you.” Cindy also shared that her experience “helped me feel special and like people care about kids.”
EvelineCharles and its creative and educational team have developed a program where young women will leave Beauty Bootcamp with irreplaceable life skills. They will leave knowing the power of self-confidence and the power of knowledge. They will leave with the power to grow. The program which focuses on building self-esteem learning about the evolution of beauty, goal setting while becoming experts on personal hygiene and developing their own styles, has proven over the last five years that girls learn to see that they are truly beautiful.
