The Lac La Biche Festival of Trees is always an exciting opportunity for local businesses and organizations to promote their services and products to the local community. BGCBigs’ Lac La Biche location was thrilled to participate in the fifth annual event this holiday season!

The focus of the event is, of course, the beautifully decorated trees, donated by vendors. The trees were displayed at the Bold Centre for the public to view and purchase tickets to win. Proceeds from the event supported not-for-profit organizations serving the Lac La Biche area.

TTreeshe Big Brothers Big Sisters’ trees were a lovely representation of mentoring; a Big and a Little were decorated by kids in our Lac La Biche programs.

“The kids’ ornaments were beautiful and it really added a personal touch to our trees,” explains Robyn Phillips, program facilitator for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lac La Biche. “I think they represented Big Brothers Big Sisters perfectly.” The Big Brothers Big Sisters’ trees were won by a local elementary student.

“It’s a wonderful chance to meet the community at large and also network with other organizations, all the while supporting other local non-profits,” says Robyn. “Wonderful collaborations can come from these events. I’m so happy Big Brothers Big Sisters was able to be a part of it.”

Thanks so much to our Robyn for sharing this lovely story with us!
