AustinDo you know a great kid you know in your community? Celebrate their remarkable efforts and help inspire them to continue doing great things by nominating them for a Great Kids Award! Haven’t heard about the Great Kids Award? Here’s the scoop.

When seven year-old Austin Neufeld realized he would not have enough garage sale items to reach his fundraising goal of $1,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation, he asked everyone he knew to donate things. As a result of generous donations, he was able to surpass his goal and raised $2,500 when he hosted his garage sale. Shortly after, Austin was nominated for, and won, the Great Kids Award.

The Great Kids Award recognizes children and youth who do great things every day – at home, at school, and in their community. From starting a fundraising campaign to being a well-rounded student, to showing leadership inside and outside the classroom, they demonstrate outstanding leadership, determination, generosity, and compassion.

All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.  Nominations close at 4:00 p.m. on December 9, 2014.
