In an effort to continuously serve children and youth, Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area is providing distance-based, virtual programming, through which our agency staff will facilitate program activities through online platforms.
Virtual Programming will be scheduled in advance and displayed on this page. Leadership, health, physical activity, reading, tutoring, science, technology, engineering, math, arts, driver education courses are just some of the categories of online learning your children/youth will be able to take part in.
Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area will use software, tools and applications provided by third parties that members, parents/guardians and/or staff will access via the Internet and use for purposes of communication and programming. This platform is G Suite, using the Google Meets, Google Classroom, Google Sites and Google Docs applications.

Virtual Group Programming
Summer Brain Gain
Summer Brain Gain is a virtual program that helps combat summer learning loss through fun and educational activities. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations as they explore different themes each week.
Art in the Summer
Art in the Summer explores various art techniques and provides the opportunity to create your own unique artwork. Come and hang out virtually in a relaxing, fun, and welcoming space that allows for creativity and imagination!
Join us for some super hero themed virtual afternoons where we play games, make arts & crafts, and exercise our brains and bodies! Get to know other Virtual Club Members and Staff through a wide range of interactive activities that come with lots and lots of laughs!
Kid Tech Nation
Kid Tech Nation is a virtual program that teaches children and youth digital skills, coding concepts, internet safety, and computational thinking. The program also focuses on engaging young people that are typically underrepresented in STEM fields: girls, racialized and Indigenous children, and children from newcomer families.
To support youth in Employment. This employment readiness program focuses on developing soft skills such as resume writing, job searching, exploring career pathways, and an opportunity to gain employment.
Dungeons and Dragons
Youth are invited to join an afternoon of table top, role-playing games. Staff will lead a campaign of Dungeons of Dragons, guiding youth as they conjure an adventure of problem-solving, teamwork and creative thinking.
How to Adult
Practice and develop skills that will help you through a life time. In How To Adult, you may learn new skills that you may not learn at school! For example, learn about banks, budget, loans, or learn about post-secondary.
UPS Road Code/Youth Space
This is a driver’s education program that prepares young learners through a mixture of virtual learning and hands-on experience. Youth focus on road safety, traffic laws and safe driving technique. Drivers will receive a certificate of completion and will learn from a UPS driver about the importance of being a safe driver. Each week, youth have an opportunity to work with a driving simulator for an immersive opportunity to hone their skills.
Youth Space is an opportunity for youth to explore and embrace the diverse contexts of being a young person in today’s society. Youth can expect to be welcome to a safe environment to play games, explore topics of youth’s interest, and develop positive peer and mentoring relationships.
