netWork Youth Mentoring

Overview: Virtual 1:1 Employment & Job Readiness Mentoring program. Youth are 14 years of age or older, and are matched to a mentor for about 4 months (4 months is the recommended minimum time frame, but should the match want to continue past the 4 month mark an option for this extension can be provided). The match meets virtually every week or every other week as set by both the youth and the mentor. The focus of the program is employment and job-readiness, including activities such as resume building, confidence and soft skill development, interview prep, work experience, etc. Our Youth Employment Coordinator is there to provide support and assistance and can help provide resources and opportunities to meet the youth’s goals

Mentees: Youth between the ages of 14-24 that have a specific interest in becoming ‘job ready’ and finding work.

Mentors: Anyone over the age of 18 that has successfully been in the workforce and wants to support youth in achieving their employment goals.

Minimum Commitment: 30-60 minutes every week or other week for 4 months.

Availability: Edmonton, Strathcona County, Parkland County, Lac La Biche, Morinville, and St. Albert

Where: Virtually through Zoom, Google meets, or other agreed virtual platform.
