Our Kids Need Mentors!
THEIR FUTURE, OUR PRIORITY
Become a Volunteer Mentor with BGCBigs and ignite a young person's potential today.
We want to give young people the confidence to achieve more. BGCBigs is looking for positive, understanding adults to encourage them to find their strength from within. We believe that people are empowered through consistent and supportive relationships.
It's as easy as a few hours a week!
We have a waitlist of children & youth who are eager to get matched with a mentor like you. You could empower them to reach their full potential!
Mentors are urgently needed for the following programs (learn more about each program here)
- Community-Based Mentoring (our Traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters Program);
- In-School Mentoring (Click here for a list of schools);
- Youth in Care Mentoring (for young people involved in government care);
- PRISM mentoring program (supporting 2SLGBTQ+ young people).
We value diversity and are experts in matching youth with mentors based on shared experience and interests.
Right now we have an immediate need for Indigenous volunteers who are interested in being matched with Indigenous youth who have told us they want an Indigenous BIG. Share your passions and culture with a young person today!

Why mentor?
Mentoring gives you the opportunity to connect with a young person to inspire positive progress.
Spending time with a young person can be as simple as going for a walk, grabbing a coffee, or seeing a movie – you can support a young person today just by being you!
We are looking for mentors who:
- have a diverse background of lived experiences
- represent any culture, sexual orientation, gender or gender expression
- are passionate about supporting a young person!
No specific skills are needed, just your time and passion for igniting potential.
