Lobster Lovers Fundraiser

In Support of BGCBigs’ Future Mentoring and Club Programs

Help Us Achieve Our Goal of $90,000

This year, in lieu of an in-person event, we’re asking our generous supporters to help us raise funds through our re-imagined Lobster Lovers Fundraiser; in support of BGCBigs’ Future Mentoring and Club Programs.

We're proud to announce that our loyal supporter and presenting sponsor Flaman Edmonton will be matching all 2023 Lobster Lovers Fundraiser donations dollar for dollar up to $30,000—so your generous donation will go twice as far!

All funds raised will be in support of BGCBigs' programs such as:

  • One-to-one mentoring
  • In-school mentoring
  • Out-of-school programs
  • Tutoring
  • Club programs
  • Youth employment programs
  • And so much more!

Together, we’re changing the lives of children and youth with one conversation, one experience at a Club, one donation or gift, and one mentor at a time.

The Beloved History of Our Lobster Lovers Feast

For nearly 25 years the Lobster Lovers Feast has been a favorite among our staff, volunteers, families and generous sponsors and donors. With the help of each of these caring, loyal and generous groups of people the Lobster Lovers Feast fast became an event that brought valued members of our community together to enjoy a night of East Coast delicacies (not without the help of our born and raised East Coast advisory members!) and good company— all while making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Over the course of just more than two decades, the Lobster Lovers Feast raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of BGCBigs' programs. With the help of these funds, we've been able to continue providing vital wrap-around programs and services to young people and their families.

This is why we want the Giving Spirit of this event to live on...

The decision not to host an in-person event was difficult, especially because the Lobster Lovers Feast is so near and dear to our hearts. However, due to the event's high overhead, we had to acknowledge the context of our ever-changing ‘new normal’. As such, we’re leveraging new opportunities to help raise funds to directly benefit the children and families we serve.

Because while our Lobster Lovers Feast is paused for the time being, our mission to provide safe spaces and positive mentoring relationships to young people in our community is not.

We hope that you will support our re-imagined Lobster Lovers Fundraiser.
