Out of School Time

Out of School Time (OST) is a key component of All in for Youth (AIFY), a collaborative partnership of multiple organizations working together to support children and families in Edmonton.

AIFY includes several school communities, with a shared goal of creating high-quality learning environments and strengthening communities through coordinated, school-based supports and services.

How it works:

  • Students in Grades 1-12 can participate in free programming offered within their own school community.
  • Programs take place during the critical hours after school, during lunch hours, on professional development days, during school breaks and other non-instructional times.
  • Programming will take place based on each school's site schedule and community needs.
  • Participating students will engage in activities that support healthy development, including recreation, creative expression, leadership opportunities, academic support and opportunities to build positive peer relationships.
  • OST programs are designed to strengthen confidence, belonging and resilience while giving youth a place where they feel safe, supported and valued.

Participation opportunities vary by school site and activity: Students may attend registered programs, drop-in activities, Clubs, events, leadership opportunities and seasonal programming throughout the school year.
