Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cold Lake

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Cold Lake is a charitable non-profit organization that provides positive mentoring relationships for children and youth in our community. BBBS Cold Lake relies on the generosity of the community’s time and resources to ensure that kids who could benefit from an additional caring adult in their life have access to one. BBBS Cold Lake is part of the service delivery area of Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area (BGCBigs).

Cold Lake is approximately 294 km (180 miles) northeast of Edmonton. Incorporated in 1996 through amalgamation of the former towns of Grand Centre, Cold Lake and Medley (Canadian Forces Base 4 Wing), Cold Lake became a city in 2000. The three main industries in the area are military, oil and gas and tourism.

Our programs increase kids’ confidence and self-esteem, improve their grades in school, help them have positive interactions with peers and adults, and keep them out of trouble.
